John Malam is a British author and editor who has written more than 200 books for children and young adults. He specializes in non-fiction topics such as history, science, geography and art. He has also written fiction, poetry and plays. Some of his notable works include You Wouldn't Want to Be a Roman Gladiator!, The Atlas of Exploration and Discovery, and The Story of the First World War. He has won several awards for his writing, such as the Blue Peter Book Award and the School Library Association Information Book Award. He lives in Cheshire, England, with his wife and two children.
